APOEL addresses reports regarding Antonin Barak and Marius Corbu

Nicosia football club APOEL has clarified its position on two key transfer-related matters as of August 28, 2026. Club spokesperson Nektarios Petevinos officially denied claims that Czech midfielder Antonin Barak is seeking compensation from the club following the collapse of his transfer. Petevinos also refuted reports that the deal failed due to medical issues, stating that negotiations simply did not reach a final agreement, leading the club to sign Filip Djuricic instead. The official categorically denied any legal action taken by the player against the club.

Separately, APOEL is monitoring the potential transfer of Marius Corbu from Ferencvaros to Sturm Graz. The Romanian player’s transfer to the Hungarian side last January included a sell-on clause that would benefit the Nicosia club. Reports indicate that if Ferencvaros reaches their reported asking price of over 4 million euros in a deal with the Austrian club, APOEL expects to receive approximately 500,000 euros.
