Simou village to host Agrofest 2026

The village of Simou will host the Simou Agrofest 2026 on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM in the village square. The event is dedicated to cultural heritage, local agriculture, and traditional crafts, aiming to revive customs that have sustained the community for generations.

The festival program includes an exhibition of agricultural products and crafts, alongside painting and photography displays. Visitors can observe traditional demonstrations, including wheat threshing and milling. Experiential workshops are scheduled throughout the day, featuring bread baking with Giorgoula Christodoulou, as well as production demonstrations for trachanas, halloumi, anari, and palouzes by Alineri Dairy. For children, the event offers a dedicated corner with games and a rooster mascot. The opening ceremony will feature welcome speeches from the President of the Community Council and the President of the Cultural Association of Expatriates and Friends of Simou, followed by traditional dances and live music by Stefanos Pelekanis.
