AEL Limassol reaches agreement with Stevan Jovetic
AEL Limassol has officially secured the transfer of 36-year-old Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic. The agreement marks a significant addition to the Limassol team’s attacking lineup, as the experienced player has decided to continue his career in Cyprus.
Jovetic, who recently became a free agent following his departure from Omonia, is expected to undergo mandatory medical examinations before finalizing the contract. During his two-season tenure at Omonia, the forward recorded 66 appearances, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists. Specifically, during the previous season, he participated in 35 matches across all competitions, contributing nine goals and eight assists. His arrival at AEL, managed by Hugo Martins, is viewed as a strategic move to leverage his European experience and deep familiarity with the Cypriot football landscape to improve the team's mid-attacking performance.
Following the successful negotiations, the club is preparing the formal announcement of the transfer. The move reinforces AEL's commitment to strengthening its roster for the current season.
