Stevan Jovetić joins AEL Limassol

AEL Limassol has officially announced the signing of Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetić, who has committed to the club until 2028. The 36-year-old international, who previously played for Omonia in Cyprus, finalized the deal on August 28, 2026, after rejecting other career options. Throughout the summer, the experienced striker maintained his fitness by training with FK Arsenal Tivat in his home country.

Following successful medical examinations, Jovetić has already begun training under manager Hugo Martins. His addition is seen as a significant move for the Limassol side, which aimed to bolster its squad with experience and quality before the start of the championship. The club management views him as the final piece in their summer transfer window, completing their recruitment strategy.

Jovetić was included in the matchday squad for the highly anticipated season opener against Anorthosis at the Alphamega Stadium on August 30, 2026. The club, which sold over 5,000 tickets for the event, relies on his presence to help them transition into a more competitive role within the league.
