Cyprus national youth football teams announce training schedules
The Cyprus national U-16 and U-17 football teams have scheduled a series of training sessions at the Pyrga Community Stadium. Both teams will conduct sessions from August 31 to September 3, 2026, to prepare for their respective upcoming obligations. The U-16 squad, coached by Michalis Markou, will train in the mornings between 09:00 and 10:30, and includes players from various clubs such as APOEL, Omonia, AEL, Apollon, Anorthosis, AEK, Aris, Agia Napa, Ethnikos Assias, and Nea Salamina. The schedule for the U-16 team also includes a friendly match against Nea Salamina.
Simultaneously, the U-17 squad, under the leadership of Nikos Nikolaou, will hold training sessions in the afternoon starting at 17:30. The roster features players from clubs including AEK, AEL, Anorthosis, Agia Napa, APOEL, Apollon, Aris, Ethnikos Achnas, Olympiakos, Omonia, and Pafos FC. Officials have emphasized that all training sessions for both age groups are strictly closed to the general public, including parents and chaperones of the players.
