Tasos Donis in negotiations to return to APOEL
Greek forward Tasos Donis is reportedly on the verge of returning to the Cypriot club APOEL, according to reports from August 28, 2026. The player, currently under contract with Aris Thessaloniki, has reached a verbal agreement with the Cypriot side. The primary condition for the transfer to proceed is for the player to successfully negotiate his release from Aris as a free agent.
Donis previously played for APOEL over three seasons, where he made 77 appearances, scored 15 goals, and provided 14 assists. Reports suggest he struggled for playing time at Aris due to increased competition in the team's attacking lineup. The player now seeks to return to the club, which is currently coached by Nikos Papadopoulos.
At present, the finalization of the move depends entirely on the agreement between the player and Aris Thessaloniki regarding the termination of his existing contract. Once the release is finalized, Donis is expected to officially re-join the Nicosia-based club.
