Lucas Villafanez joins Athens Kallithea

Athens Kallithea FC announced the acquisition of 34-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder Lucas Villafanez on August 28, 2026. The player joins the team following the conclusion of his tenure with Kifisia, where he recorded 13 appearances and one assist during the 2024/25 season, helping the club secure promotion to the Super League.

Villafanez brings significant experience to the squad, having played 134 matches for Panathinaikos over six seasons, winning the Greek Cup in 2021/22. His career also includes winning the Cypriot championship with APOEL during the 2023/24 season. Originally from Comodoro, Argentina, he began his professional journey at CAI before moving to Independiente, where he made his Primera Division debut and scored against Boca Juniors at age 19. He was later loaned to Huracan, where he won the Copa Argentina.

Following the completion of these terms, the midfielder is expected to integrate into the Athens Kallithea squad for the upcoming matches, providing additional depth and experience to their midfield lineup.
