Omonia 29is Maiou secures 3-0 victory against Krasava ENY in season opener

Omonia 29is Maiou began their Cyprus League campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Krasava ENY at the Ammochostos-Epistrofi stadium on August 28, 2026. The match, marking the premiere of the new season, saw Omonia dominate with clinical finishing. Abri opened the scoring in the 28th minute, with the goal confirmed by VAR after initial confusion. Konstantinos Hantakias doubled the lead with a powerful header in the 50th minute, and Abri sealed the win with a second goal in the 59th minute following an assist from Tierney. Krasava ENY, managed by Dmytro Chygrynskiy, struggled with team cohesion due to numerous new signings and significant personnel absences.

The game was historically significant for the Omonia 29is Maiou fan base, as the 'Thyra 9' supporters attended their first top-flight match since the implementation of the fan card system. Their strong presence and atmosphere were noted as a highlight of the evening. Following this disappointing debut, the Krasava ENY squad faces pressure to improve their performance as they integrate new players into the rotation for upcoming fixtures.
