Pafos FC and Omonoia face challenging paths in UEFA league phases
Ahead of the UEFA Conference League draw, data analysis platform 'Football Meets Data' conducted 50,000 simulations to predict potential opponents for Pafos FC. The results highlighted nine teams with a 20% probability of being drawn against the Cypriot champions, including Brighton, Red Star Belgrade, Copenhagen, Midtjylland, and Panathinaikos. These projections were based on UEFA regulations and statistical modeling to determine possible match-ups.
Following the actual draws held on Friday, analysts concluded that both Pafos FC and Omonoia were among the unluckiest clubs. According to ELO rating assessments, Omonoia received the ninth most difficult schedule in the Europa League, while Pafos FC was ranked as having the tenth most difficult draw in the Conference League. These assessments suggest that both teams will face a demanding program throughout the competition's league phase as they navigate these challenging rosters.
