Omonia Nicosia pursues Luuk Brouwers to reinforce midfield

Omonia Nicosia is in active negotiations to sign 28-year-old Dutch midfielder Luuk Brouwers from SC Heerenveen. The Cypriot club has already submitted an official bid for the player, which was rejected by Heerenveen’s technical director, Johan Hansma, who stated the initial offer was insufficient given that the player is under contract until 2027.

Brouwers is currently outside the primary plans of Heerenveen manager Robin Feldmann and has expressed interest in the move, noting that discussions are heading in the right direction. The transfer initiative follows personnel challenges at Omonia, including the departure of Ioannis Kousoulos and an injury to Carel Eiting. Omonia intends to continue negotiations to secure the midfielder, who is primarily viewed as a box-to-box option, distinct from the club's interest in Tasos Bakasetas.
