Francis Uzoho joins Omonia 29M following departure from Omonia Nicosia

Nigerian goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, born on October 28, 1998, has officially joined Omonia 29M following his departure from Omonia Nicosia. Uzoho, who had been with Omonia Nicosia since 2021, expressed on social media that his exit was not his own choice, stating it was difficult to say goodbye to a club he grew to love. His departure marks the end of a six-year period during which he participated in 70 matches, securing one league title, two cups, and five European group stage qualifications.

This transfer is notable for being the first time the two organizations have reached a formal agreement, signaling a move toward normalizing relations between the entities. Adamos Efstathiou, chairman of Omonia 29M, credited Stavros Papastavrou for his role in facilitating this cooperation. Meanwhile, Omonia Nicosia has shifted its focus to the domestic league season, despite a disappointing draw in their opening match against Omonia Aradippou, which saw manager Henning Berg rotate nine players in the starting lineup.
