Cyprus police search for suspects following Nea Salamina event violence

Cypriot police have launched an investigation into violent incidents that occurred during a Nea Salamina football club event held at the auxiliary grounds of the Ammochostos Stadium. The incidents took place between August 23 and August 24, 2026, involving charges of grievous bodily harm, rioting, brawling, assault, and the use of dangerous objects.

Authorities are currently seeking to identify 30 to 31 individuals linked to these events. While Philenews reported that police are searching for 30 persons, other reports indicate that 31 individuals have been identified as suspects. Law enforcement officials have released images of the sought individuals and are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to their location or identification.
