Nineteen-year-old woman arrested for attempted car arson in Limassol
Police in Limassol have arrested a 19-year-old woman following an attempted arson attack on a vehicle. The incident occurred on August 28, 2026, at approximately 11:45 pm, when a 63-year-old man discovered damage to the rear left tire of his car parked at his apartment complex. Forensic examination by officers at the scene confirmed that the damage resulted from a deliberate attempt to set the vehicle on fire.
Following the identification of evidence, authorities issued a court warrant and apprehended the suspect shortly before 6:00 pm on August 29. The woman appeared before the Limassol District Court on the morning of August 30, where a judge granted a five-day detention order to facilitate further investigation. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently managing the case to determine the full circumstances behind the attempted arson.
