Police in Larnaca arrest 39-year-old man for attempted burglary and possession of tools

Larnaca police arrested a 39-year-old man late on the night of August 29, 2026, in connection with an attempted residential burglary. The attempted break-in occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. on August 28, 2026. Following an investigation by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (TAE), evidence was gathered linking the suspect to the crime, leading to the issuance of a judicial arrest warrant.

Members of the Larnaca Prevention of Crime Unit (OPE) located and apprehended the individual around 11:00 p.m. on August 29. During a search conducted at the time of the arrest, officers found burglary tools in the man's possession, specifically a grinder, a cutter, and several screwdrivers. Consequently, he was also arrested for the flagrant offense of possession of burglary tools. The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its probe into the matter to determine the full extent of his criminal activities.
