Two men arrested in Larnaca for attempted burglary
Police in Larnaca have arrested two men, aged 39 and 33, in connection with an attempted residential burglary that occurred on August 28, 2026, shortly before 5:00 p.m. Investigations by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led to the issuance of arrest warrants for both suspects based on gathered evidence.
The 39-year-old suspect was apprehended by the Larnaca Prevention of Crime Unit (OPD) on the night of August 29. During a search, officers discovered burglary tools, including a grinder, a cutter, and screwdrivers, in his backpack. Following his arrest, the Larnaca District Court ordered his three-day detention on August 30 to facilitate the ongoing investigation. The second suspect, a 33-year-old man, was arrested by the police on the morning of August 31 under an outstanding warrant.
Both suspects remain in police custody as authorities continue their investigation into the incident. The case is currently being processed by the local police department to determine the full extent of the suspects' involvement in the crime.
