Fatal traffic accident on Limassol-Paphos highway

According to police reports, the accident took place around 11:30 a.m. when the elderly driver, who was parked on the safety lane, attempted to enter the highway and collided with another vehicle. Mr. Georgakis, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, had to be extracted from his vehicle by the fire department. The couple in the other vehicle also required hospitalization; the woman sustained more serious injuries, though both are currently reported to be out of danger. Motorists were redirected to the old Limassol-Paphos road throughout the duration of the investigation.
