Rodinei leaves Olympiacos to join Santos
Brazilian defender Rodinei has officially departed from Olympiacos after a three-and-a-half-year tenure to return to his home country. The 34-year-old right-back, who had a contract with the Greek club until the summer of 2027, reached a mutual agreement to terminate his deal early. He subsequently signed a new contract with the Brazilian club Santos that runs until December 2027.
Throughout his time in Piraeus, Rodinei established himself as a key figure for the team, accumulating 157 appearances, 12 goals, and 28 assists. His successful stint included winning the Conference League, a Greek Championship title, a Greek Cup, and the 2025 Super Cup. Reports from Brazilian journalist Venê Casagrande confirmed that the transfer was finalized on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, following the club's verbal approval to release the player.
Following the finalization of the contract, Rodinei is expected to undergo medical examinations and will be formally presented by Santos. His departure marks the end of a significant era for Olympiacos, with the club now moving to adjust its roster planning in his absence.
