Andreas Nikolaou becomes the first to walk the entire Cyprus coastline
Cypriot ultramarathon runner Andreas Nikolaou has become the first person to complete the entire coastline of Cyprus on foot. The challenge began at the Limassol pier at 00:07 on July 20 and concluded at the same location at 22:42 on July 27, taking a total of 7 days, 22 hours, 35 minutes, and 25 seconds.
Throughout the journey, Nikolaou covered 701.94 kilometers with over 800,000 steps, facing temperatures that reached 40 degrees Celsius. His performance, which supported the "Small Heroes" charity, was documented by his coach Stefan Stankovic using three original watch files and 513,842 continuous data points. The route was verified by an independent live tracking system and geotagged photographs, resulting in the achievement being officially registered as a supported Fastest Known Time for the Cyprus coastline.
