Police search for four missing individuals across Cyprus
Cyprus police have issued urgent appeals to the public for information regarding four individuals reported missing in separate incidents between late August and early September 2026. The missing persons include 14-year-old Evanthia Bletsa, who was last seen in Nicosia on August 30, and 14-year-old Atif Sammour, a Syrian national who disappeared from his residence in Strovolos on August 28.
Additionally, authorities are searching for 26-year-old Bassam Mohamad Kheir, a Syrian national missing from his home in Limassol since September 1, and 19-year-old Zoe Pagkalou, who has been missing from her home in Sotira since September 1. Descriptions of the missing individuals have been circulated to assist in their identification; notably, while reports for Zoe Pagkalou contain a minor inconsistency regarding her age, listing her as both 19 and 16, authorities have prioritized the search efforts.
Law enforcement is actively investigating these disappearances. Members of the public with any relevant information are urged to contact the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department at 22802222, the Deryneia Police Station at 23803260, or the Citizen’s Line at 1460. These investigations remain ongoing as police continue to coordinate with local stations to locate the missing individuals.
