APOEL Nicosia to sign Czech midfielder Antonin Barak

APOEL Nicosia has moved to secure the signing of 31-year-old Czech midfielder Antonin Barak, reversing a previous decision that led to the collapse of negotiations in late June. The club is set to finalize a two-year deal with the player, who is expected to stay in Cyprus until the summer of 2028. This move marks a significant reinforcement for the team's midfield, filling a gap following the departure of Diego Rosa.

Barak, who has 44 appearances and 11 goals for the Czech national team, brings extensive experience from Serie A, having played for Udinese, Lecce, Hellas Verona, and Fiorentina. The transfer is part of a broader recruitment push by coach Nikos Papadopoulos, who is also integrating Croatian goalkeeper Oliver Zelenika and Spanish defender Alvaro Carillo into the squad. Official registration of these new signings remains pending the lifting of a transfer embargo, after which the players will be available for team selection.
