Nicosia Municipality launches school supply recycling campaign

The Municipality of Nicosia has announced its third annual 'Recycle and Share' campaign, aimed at supporting families in need ahead of the new school year. The initiative invites residents to donate or collect new and gently used school items, including backpacks, pencil cases, and stationery, promoting a community-based approach to sharing resources.

The campaign is scheduled to run from Wednesday, September 2, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026, excluding the weekend of September 5 and 6. Interested citizens can participate daily between 08:30 and 14:30 at four designated collection points: the Old Pallouriotissa Market, the former Aglantzia Town Hall, the Engomi municipal offices on Kyriakou Matsi Avenue, and the former Youth Information Center in Agios Dometios.

This project, which has now reached its third consecutive year, reflects the municipality’s commitment to social welfare and sustainable practices. By providing a platform for residents to drop off supplies and acquire necessary items for their children, the municipality seeks to alleviate the financial burden on families during the back-to-school period.
