Obituary reports from Limassol region

Between late August and early September 2026, several residents of the Limassol region passed away, prompting a series of funeral announcements. Among the deceased are Michalis Tsirkis (77), who died on August 17, and Aristidis Papamarkou (89), who passed on August 30. Ioannis Protopapas (91) died on August 31, with his burial scheduled at Agia Phyla cemetery. Dimis Mavropoulos, a board member of the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company, died recently; his funeral is set for September 3 at Agios Kosmas tou Aitolou Church, where his family requested attendees wear bright colors instead of traditional mourning black.

Additionally, Menelaos Giagkou (96) passed away on September 1, with his service scheduled for September 4 at the Apostle Loukas Church in Agios Athanasios. Dr. Panos Razis (69), a distinguished academic at the University of Cyprus, also passed away on September 1. His funeral will be held on September 4 at Agios Kosmas tou Aitolou Church. In lieu of flowers, the family of Dr. Razis has requested donations be made to the University of Cyprus Student Welfare Association.
