Cyprus University of Technology to launch sports academy in Paphos

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT/TEPAK) has announced plans to establish its first sports academy based at its facilities in Paphos. Rector Panayiotis Zaphiris confirmed that the university is currently conducting necessary studies to facilitate this development. The proposed academy is expected to offer two primary study programs: one focusing on sports management and another dedicated to pure sports sciences.

In addition to the new academy, the university intends to introduce a degree program in catering and food services in Paphos within the coming years. This initiative follows the successful milestone reached in late June, when the university held its first graduation ceremony in the city, marking the completion of studies for its inaugural group of 105 graduates. Rector Zaphiris highlighted that this achievement represents a significant historical event for both the academic institution and the local community of Paphos.

The university is currently moving forward with the formal planning and development phase for these new educational programs. The expansion of academic offerings in Paphos reflects the institution's commitment to strengthening its presence in the region following the success of its initial graduating class.
