Cyprus tourism revenue shows slight growth in June 2026
Tourism revenue in Cyprus saw a marginal increase of 0.2% in June 2026, reaching €423.1 million compared to €422.3 million in June 2025. This growth follows three consecutive months of declining revenues, providing a brief period of positive momentum for the sector.
Despite the June recovery, the overall performance for the first half of 2026 remains significantly lower than the previous year. Revenue for the January–June period totaled €1.221 billion, a decrease of 11.4% compared to the €1.378 billion recorded during the same period in 2025, representing a loss of approximately €156.8 million. Additionally, the average per capita expenditure for tourists rose to €863.62 in June, a 2% increase from the €847.01 observed in the previous year.
The United Kingdom remains the primary market for Cypriot tourism, accounting for 33% of total arrivals in June, with an average daily expenditure of €103.98 per British visitor. Israel followed as the second-largest market with a 16.4% share, exhibiting a higher average daily spend of €174.27, while Poland ranked third with 7.3%.
