Milan Trajkovic wins silver and Filippa Fotopoulou takes gold at Mediterranean Games

Cypriot athletes achieved significant success at the 20th Mediterranean Games currently held in Taranto, Italy. Milan Trajkovic secured the silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 13.25 seconds. This performance equaled the national record he originally set in 2017 at the London Diamond League. Trajkovic’s achievement marks his second consecutive silver medal at the Mediterranean Games, following his similar success in Oran four years ago.

In addition to Trajkovic's success, Filippa Fotopoulou added to the Cypriot medal tally by winning gold in the long jump. She reached 6.59 meters on her first attempt, a distance that remained unsurpassed by her competitors throughout the event. With these recent victories, the total number of medals won by the Cypriot delegation has reached 13, consisting of 5 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals. These results continue to highlight the strong performance of Cypriot athletes on the international stage.
