KOP rejects Nea Salamina's request to ban AEK fans
The Cyprus Football Association (KOP) has rejected a request from Nea Salamina to ban visiting fans from AEK Larnaca for their upcoming second-round match of the 2026/27 Cyprus League. The request originated following disturbances that occurred after a fan day event held by Nea Salamina. Despite the refusal to implement a total ban, the authorities have mandated a reduction in the ticket allocation for visiting supporters to ensure safety.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Ammochostos-Epistrofi Stadium. Following consultations between the KOP and the police, it was confirmed that AEK Larnaca will receive an allocation of 250 tickets for the event. Nea Salamina has officially announced the ticketing details for their home crowd while acknowledging the restricted number of tickets provided to the visiting club.
