Jury deliberations continue in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial

The trial of Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old former nurse accused of murdering her three children, has reached a critical stage as jurors continue deliberations in Massachusetts. On January 24, 2023, Clancy strangled her five-year-old daughter Cora, three-year-old son Dawson, and eight-month-old infant Callan in the basement of their family home.

The core of the trial hinges on the defendant’s mental state at the time of the killings. The defense argues that Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis, rendering her unable to distinguish right from wrong, and therefore not criminally responsible.
