New York man survives being struck by lightning

A resident of Staten Island, New York, identified as Thomas Fahmy, survived being struck by lightning last week while walking to a dental appointment during a storm. The dramatic event was captured by a doorbell camera at his residence. Following the incident, Fahmy described experiencing sensations of tingling, numbness, pain, and a pervasive burning feeling throughout his body.

Despite the intensity of the strike, medical evaluations conducted at a hospital, where he spent the night, revealed no burns or other apparent injuries. Fahmy expressed his gratitude for surviving the event, stating that he visited his church the following Sunday to offer thanks. As a gesture of his outlook following the brush with death, he noted that he purchased a Mega Millions lottery ticket the day after the incident.
