A two-year-old boy was rushed to the University Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI) in critical condition after falling from the balcony of his home in the Lenika area of Agios Nikolaos on the morning of Tuesday, September 2, 2026. The toddler reportedly slipped away from his parents' supervision before falling from the residence under circumstances that remain unclear.
Initially, the child was taken to the Agios Nikolaos Hospital, where medical staff performed a CT scan. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, doctors determined that the boy required specialized care and initiated his transfer to the PAGNI facility in Heraklion while intubated.
