AEK Larnaca set to sign Italian goalkeeper Alberto Paleari

AEK Larnaca is finalizing a deal to sign 34-year-old Italian goalkeeper Alberto Paleari from Torino. Sporting director Xavi Roca has been actively seeking a new first-choice goalkeeper, as current option Nenad Muftic has reportedly failed to impress the club's management. According to reports from Italian media and local news sources, Paleari is expected to be released by Torino and travel to Cyprus to complete the transfer.

Paleari, who began his career in the AC Milan academy, has extensive experience in the Italian league, having played for clubs including Cittadella, Genoa, and Benevento. Last season, he recorded 29 appearances in Serie A and three in the Coppa Italia. The proposed deal is expected to be a two-year contract, providing the necessary reinforcement for the Larnaca squad.

With the Cypriot transfer window remaining open until September 9, there is sufficient time to conclude the negotiations. The move comes as Torino looks to trim its roster following recent additions, making the veteran goalkeeper surplus to requirements for the Serie A side. The player is now expected to join the Cypriot team shortly.
