Olympiacos explores potential transfer of Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey

Olympiacos has entered into preliminary negotiations with Aston Villa regarding the potential transfer of 29-year-old winger Leon Bailey. The Greek club is currently assessing the feasibility of the move as they look to strengthen the squad managed by Jose Luis Mendilibar following the recent acquisition of Gustavo Puerta.

Bailey, a Jamaican international, is reportedly outside of Unai Emery's plans at Aston Villa. His contract with the English club expires next summer, and he is currently valued at 14 million euros by Transfermarkt. Bailey originally joined Aston Villa in 2021 for a fee of 32 million euros after a successful tenure at Bayer Leverkusen, where he recorded 39 goals and 25 assists in 156 matches. During his time in England, he has scored 23 goals and provided 25 assists in 163 appearances. Last season, Bailey spent six months on loan at Roma, although he saw limited playing time during that period.

While Olympiacos has initiated contact, no final agreement has been reached between the two clubs. Both parties are currently in the initial stages of evaluating the financial and contractual terms of a potential deal.
