Keravnos expresses satisfaction with economic progress: Growth rate is triple the EU average

Cypriot Finance Minister Makis Keravnos highlighted that the economy grew by 3.3% in the first half of 2026, more than triple the eurozone average of 1%. This growth is supported by sectors like retail, IT, and construction, while the government maintains a fiscal surplus of €770.6 million. Despite geopolitical challenges and imported inflation affecting households, the government remains committed to disciplined fiscal policies, aiming to further reduce public debt and distribute the benefits of growth across the economy.
