Death toll rises in Kyrenia shipwreck as search operations continue

A tragic shipwreck involving the catamaran Filo Jet occurred off the coast of occupied Kyrenia on August 30, 2026. As of September 5, rescue teams—supported by Turkish naval vessels TCG Isin and TCG Alemdar—have recovered 13 bodies from the wreck, which lies at a depth of 550 meters.
