AEL Limassol rejects Maccabi Netanya transfer bid for Luther Singh
Maccabi Netanya, managed by Ronny Levy, submitted an official offer to AEL Limassol for the transfer of 29-year-old South African winger Luther Singh on September 2, 2026. The Israeli club targeted Singh, who has been with the Cypriot team since 2024 and currently holds an estimated market value of 850,000 euros, to bolster their squad. Despite the formal proposal, AEL Limassol rejected the bid, stating they do not intend to release any players at this stage.
The decision to turn down the transfer stems from internal concerns regarding squad depth, particularly following serious injuries to key players Gomis and Chatakovic. Losing Singh would represent a significant setback for AEL, as the club currently views his replacement as a difficult task. Although reports suggest Singh is personally content at his current club, it remains unclear if Maccabi Netanya will return with an improved offer, which would force the AEL administration to reconsider the situation.
