President Christodoulides awards Scouting honors and announces increased state funding

On September 2, 2026, President Nikos Christodoulides hosted a ceremony at the Presidential Palace to award the "Scout of the Republic" diploma to 110 young individuals from across Cyprus. During the event, President Christodoulides announced a significant increase in state support for the Cyprus Scouts Movement. The annual state contribution will be raised from €50,000 to €75,000. Furthermore, the Council of Ministers has approved an additional one-time grant of €100,000 specifically dedicated to supporting scouting camp facilities. The President emphasized that these funds are viewed as an investment in the nation's future rather than a mere administrative expense, pledging continued cooperation with the movement.

The ceremony served as a formal acknowledgment of the efforts made by the youth who completed the rigorous requirements for the country's highest scouting distinction.
