AEK: Official return of Joao Mario

Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario has officially returned to AEK Athens after a successful spell with the club last season. The 32-year-old joins the Greek champions permanently from Besiktas, having previously played a key role in the team's 2025-26 title win. During his initial stint, he recorded 31 appearances and scored the decisive goal against Panathinaikos. His professional career includes notable spells at Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan, and Benfica, alongside winning Euro 2016 with Portugal.
