Labor Minister meets DIKO leader to discuss pension reform

On Friday, September 4, 2026, the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Marinos Mousiouttas, met with the President of the Democratic Party (DIKO), Nikolas Papadopoulos, at the party's headquarters to present the main provisions of the government's proposed pension system reform.

DIKO President Nikolas Papadopoulos stated that the reform must ensure adequate and dignified pensions, specifically calling for a significant increase in the full basic pension and proportional enhancements for other pension categories. He emphasized that the party intends to study the proposals thoroughly to foster a fairer and more sustainable system that supports low-income pensioners and the middle class.
