Pafos FC captures Super Cup and faces league draw

Pafos FC recently secured its first-ever Super Cup title by defeating Omonia 1-0, marking a significant milestone for the club as it completes its collection of major domestic trophies. Under manager Ricardo Sa Pinto, the team celebrated this achievement as a historic step in their rapid evolution, which has seen them win four major titles in less than 30 months since May 2024. This trophy win serves as a major morale booster for the club, which has become a competitive force in Cypriot football.

Following the Super Cup triumph, Pafos FC returned to domestic league action at the Stelios Kyriakides stadium, where they faced Olympiakos in the second round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. Despite being favorites, the match ended in a 0-0 draw after a goal by Mvoue Ngamaleu was disallowed following a VAR review. Manager Sa Pinto attributed the result to a lack of efficiency in the final third and noted that the team struggled to find a breakthrough against a well-organized opponent. Pafos FC now sits on four points in the league and prepares for their upcoming away fixture against AEK on September 13, 2026.
