In Nepal, a school principal named Rajendra Dawadi saved the lives of approximately 900 students by ordering an immediate evacuation after receiving a flood warning. Moments after the students reached safety, the Trishuli Bazaar Secondary School was completely destroyed by the overflowing Trishuli River. While the mass evacuation prevented a larger catastrophe, the disaster claimed the lives of five students, one teacher, and one security guard. The school site was entirely swept away, leaving the community in urgent need of a new, secure location to rebuild.
