Annual memorial and blood drive held in memory of Andria Panagidou
On September 6, 2026, the charity foundation "Two Warm Hugs" organized its seventh annual blood drive in memory of Andria Panagidou. The event took place at the Palodia Community Council Hall, following a memorial service held earlier in the day at the Chapel of Panagia Vakeras near the Polemidia Dam. The relocation of the service was due to ongoing renovations at the Saint Nicholas Church in Palodia.
The blood donation drive was held under the auspices of the Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalampidis, who attended the event to show his support. During his address, the Minister emphasized the critical importance of such initiatives, particularly given current blood shortages. Herodotus Panagidou, the founder of the foundation, encouraged public participation to honor the memory of Andria and others who passed away prematurely.
The foundation "Two Warm Hugs" was established by the family of the deceased as a way to transform their personal loss into a charitable legacy. The initiative aims to provide vital support to those in need, with the annual drive serving as a cornerstone of the foundation's efforts to promote community solidarity and humanitarian aid.
