Cyprus experiences high temperatures due to seasonal low pressure

Cyprus is currently under the influence of a seasonal low-pressure system, resulting in clear, warm, and sunny weather across the island. Temperatures are reaching highs of 39°C in inland regions, with coastal areas seeing 33°C to 36°C and mountainous areas reaching 29°C. These values remain several degrees above the seasonal average for early September. Winds are generally light to moderate, ranging between 3 and 4 Beaufort, shifting from northeasterly to southwesterly directions throughout the day.

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear through Thursday, with some locally increased cloud cover at times. A slight decrease in temperature is forecasted starting Tuesday, though levels will remain above normal climatological values. While mountainous regions may see isolated cloud development in the afternoons, no significant weather changes or precipitation events are expected for the remainder of the week. Authorities advise that while the heat will ease slightly, conditions will stay consistently warm for this time of year.
