High temperatures forecast for Cyprus as seasonal low pressure persists

Cyprus is currently experiencing a period of hot weather under the influence of seasonal low pressure, with temperatures reaching up to 39°C in the interior. According to the Department of Meteorology, today will be characterized by sunshine and light to moderate winds of 3 to 4 Beaufort. Coastal temperatures are expected to range from 33°C to 36°C, while higher mountainous areas will see temperatures around 29°C. The current heat remains 3 to 6 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages.

Looking ahead, the weather will remain mostly clear through Thursday, although some local cloud cover is expected. A slight drop in temperature is forecasted for Tuesday, though it will remain above normal levels. By Wednesday and Thursday, no significant changes in weather conditions are expected, though isolated rain in the mountains on Thursday remains a possibility. The sea will remain calm to slightly rough throughout the period.
