Battle against the flames for the 8th day in Konitsa – Fire remains out of control in Trapezitsa

For the eighth consecutive day, a wildfire in Trapezitsa, Konitsa, remains out of control after starting on August 31. Over 150 firefighters, 48 vehicles, and air support are battling the blaze in rugged terrain, which has already consumed significant parts of a pristine forest. While officials believe the fire was caused by lightning, shifting winds have somewhat eased the immediate threat to the town, though residents remain on high alert following a 112 emergency notification.
