EMEL begins school bus services in Limassol

On September 7, 2026, the public transport operator EMEL commenced school bus services across Limassol, utilizing 108 vehicles to transport thousands of students. The routes serve various educational institutions, including gymnasiums, lyceums, and technical schools within the city, as well as schools in rural areas such as Lemithou, Agros, and Omodos.

To ensure safety, EMEL confirmed that 201 buses belonging to the company and its partners have successfully passed mandatory technical inspections and received the required certifications. The company expressed gratitude to its drivers for their commitment to passenger safety and wished students and teachers a successful academic year.

Looking ahead, the transport network is set to expand significantly. Starting next Monday, EMEL will introduce more than 60 additional routes specifically designed to accommodate the transportation needs of elementary school and kindergarten students.
