Keravnos football club celebrates centennial anniversary

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, the Keravnos sports club hosted a commemorative event at the Kostas Papaellinas Athletic Center to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The evening was dedicated specifically to the club’s historical football department, gathering former players, officials, and supporters to honor their contributions over the decades.

During the ceremony, the club reviewed its history, highlighting major milestones including the 1979 B Division championship title, the subsequent promotion to the A Division, the return to the top tier in 1988, and the eventual suspension of the football department in 1992. Approximately 150 former players and officials received commemorative plaques. Special honors were awarded to the family of Paris Papaellinas, while posthumous awards were presented to Solon Zevlaris and Georgios Charalambous. The event concluded with a symbolic friendly match involving former players at the center's futsal courts.
