UEFA provides feedback on APOEL's corporate restructuring proposal

The Cyprus Football Association (KOP) has received an official response from UEFA regarding the proposed administrative and corporate restructuring of APOEL. The case involves a strategic plan submitted by the APOEL Association, the existing company, and ECM Partners, led by Savvas Liasis, which aims to formalize a new ownership and management structure.

The critical decision-making process will advance on Wednesday upon the return of KOP President Charis Loizides from abroad. Officials are expected to hold a meeting where the contents of the UEFA letter will be presented to the stakeholders. The primary objective is to obtain an exception to the three-year rule, which would allow the new company to be licensed by March 2027 and enable significant financial injection from the investment group.

While stakeholders remain optimistic, it is noted that UEFA evaluates established agreements and concrete structures rather than theoretical scenarios. The upcoming briefing by the KOP is intended to clarify the regulatory framework for the transition.
