Paphos tourism board introduces eight beach wheelchairs for accessible access

On September 7, 2026, the Paphos Regional Board of Tourism (ETAP) announced the completion of an investment in eight specialized beach wheelchairs designed to provide safe access to the sea for people with mobility challenges. This initiative is part of a broader regional strategy to transform Paphos into an accessible, smart, and sustainable tourism destination, ensuring equal enjoyment of local experiences for all visitors.

During a handover ceremony, the eight units were distributed to local authorities to strengthen key coastal areas across the province. The allocation includes one wheelchair for the Municipality of Paphos, two for the Municipality of Geroskipou, two for the Municipality of Akamas, two for the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, and one for the Community of Chloraka. This collaborative effort between ETAP and local government bodies aims to upgrade the overall travel experience in the region.

The project reflects an ongoing commitment to improving public infrastructure and hospitality standards for individuals with disabilities.
