Local authorities push to accelerate Larnaca port and marina project
On Friday, September 4, 2026, representatives from key local institutions met to address urgent delays affecting the strategic development of the Larnaca Port and Marina. The meeting included the President of the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEL), Nakis Antoniou, the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, and the President of the Larnaca District Self-Government Organization (EOAL), Angelos Hadjiharalambous.
Participants collectively identified excessive bureaucracy and complex administrative procedures as the primary obstacles currently hindering the project's progress. The officials emphasized the necessity of improved coordination among all relevant agencies to ensure the project moves forward without further setbacks. Moving forward, the three parties have committed to maintaining close cooperation and pledged to continuously monitor the project's development to resolve any outstanding issues within their respective jurisdictions.
