Documentary project captures behind-the-scenes at Epidaurus theatre

A creative professional is currently returning to Cyprus following a four-day production assignment at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. The project involved documenting the behind-the-scenes reality of the play 'Ion', directed by Thomas Moschopoulos, providing a unique perspective inaccessible to the general audience.

This recent visit marked a professional homecoming for the contributor, who previously performed at the historic venue in the summer of 2013 as part of the cast for 'Samia', directed by Evis Gavriilidis and featuring Alkinoos Ioannidis in the lead role. By transitioning from an onstage performer to a documentarian, the individual aimed to capture the invisible aspects of theatrical production at one of Greece's most significant cultural heritage sites. The project highlights the evolution of artistic engagement with the ancient site over more than a decade.
