University of Limassol to participate in Mitsikouri 2026 festival
The third edition of the Mitsikouri International Festival of Performing Arts for Children and Young People was officially unveiled on September 2, 2026, at the Leventis Gallery. The event, organized by the Theatre Centre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ Cyprus), aims to promote inclusion, accessibility, and the right to equal cultural participation for all youth.
The festival is scheduled to take place from October 10 to October 18, 2026, across multiple locations including Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, and the Famagusta district. The program features 14 distinct productions originating from 11 different countries. Dr. Andri Hadjiandreou, representing the University of Limassol’s Centre for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (UoL Centre for DEI), confirmed the university's active participation in this cultural initiative.
A central focus of this year's festival is the presentation of the fully inclusive production titled "Helix – The Hanging Garden," which arrives from Norway. This specific performance is being staged through a collaborative effort involving the University of Limassol and the ENA Foundation, highlighting the institution's commitment to supporting accessible arts and inclusive social practices.
